Chicky chicky chick chick!
We just inherited 11 chickens and a henhouse. Hubby grumbled but now goes out with his morning coffee to "check the chickens". It's pretty awesome to go out and have a cocktail in a chair and watch them scratch. Pics to come.

dreaming of mushrooms
The mild wind from the south has me dreaming of mushrooms...hiking, gathering, eating...missing friends who have taught us, looking forward to new ones. Just joined the Colorado Mycological Society. Wyatt is a natural hunter, you just tell him to look and he will point out things us tall people miss. The Northwest was prime mushroom territory, we had weird Boletus in our back yard, also shaggy parasols (maybe shaggy manes) and we found Lepiota in someone's front yard, which we fried up and ate!!

After much inspiration from others, and finally! an explanation for the little weird yarn things I have seen around in my travels, I have decided to start a yarn graffiti campaign. Especially in the winter, the world needs more color. My 6 year old loves it. Doesn't understand crazy mommy, but loves the sneaking. Here are our first two tags...one by our local pub, the other (hats) by his elementary school.
